Southern Dominican Province, USA, reaching beyond boundaries of race,
class, denomination, and nationality to promote social justice,
spiritual growth, and healing works.

join us! Mass is celebrated in The Shrine Chapel Tuesday through Friday
at noon, and in St. Peter Church on Saturday at 5:00PM and Sunday at
8:30 & 11:00AM

ST. MARTIN DE PORRES SHRINE:
Dominican Father Thomas Weiland founded the Shrine of St. Martin de
Porres in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1936. Along with the Shrine, a
Church and a school were built in Columbia to serve the
African-American community. In 2001, the Shrine moved to its new home
at St. Peter Catholic Church in historic downtown Memphis.
St.
Martin de Porres Shrine & Institute is a ministry of the Southern
Dominican Province, USA. The Shrine & Institute promotes the legacy
of St. Martin de Porres (1579-1639), patron saint of social justice in
the Catholic Church.
